Kerry Caughey, RDN, LDN

Kerry has a strong family history of diabetes and obesity and wanted the knowledge to break that cycle for herself and her family. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition & Dietetics in 2006 and completed her Dietetic Internship in 2011 at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She has experience working with children and families both as a WIC nutritionist and as a pediatric dietitian. For six years she assisted adults struggling with metabolic syndrome at a weight management center, working both with medical weight management and bariatric surgery patients.

After a life-changing immune reaction to illness and medications in 2011, and then discovering that gut issues caused her debilitating migraines and joint pain she has a new appreciation for integrative and functional nutrition. This means taking a holistic approach to health: not just food, but also sleep, relaxation, movement, community and how you feed your soul. She is currently working on her advanced practitioner credentials in integrative and functional nutrition, and her yoga teacher training certificate, in order to better serve her clients and her own health.

In addition to being passionate about health, Kerry’s other interests are hiking, foraging in the woods, spending time with her family, friends, and dogs, yoga, saunas, and local finds at the farmers market.
