Samantha DeMello is a Registered Dietitian with a B.S. in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Rhode Island.
She completed her internship through Western Michigan University in Grand Rapids, MI, before returning home to New England. Samantha believes that everyone deserves to have a basic understanding of nutrition, and her goal is to help patients understand their individual nutritional needs.
A message from Samantha:
“I believe that everyone deserves to have a basic understanding of nutrition, and my goal is to help clients meet their individual nutritional needs and set realistic, achievable goals. I understand that improving health is about more than just “knowing what to do,” and that seeing me is often not your first step towards better health.
My approach is one step at a time at a pace that feels comfortable for you with the intention of creating real lifestyle habits, with practical tips and education, not judgment. Part of working with me is identifying and helping you overcome past and present obstacles in order to create lasting lifestyle changes.
I take a non-diet approach whenever possible for the maintenance and prevention of disease and to help people find what a healthy body means for them as an individual. I help those who struggle with, disordered eating/eating disorders, meal planning, intuitive eating, mindful eating, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS/low FODMAP), food allergies, and more.
If you’re feeling ready for long-lasting changes rather than a quick fix, I can help you get there.”
