Did you know there is a national donut day?!?

Yesterday was national donut day, and if you are feeling like you can’t celebrate this sacred day, think again! Celebrate by indulging in your favorite treat or try out this recipe from Dominique for a healthier alternative!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of flour (whole wheat or GF almond flour work great)

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

  • 1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice

  • 1/3 cup honey (maple syrup, agave or erythritol will also work)

  • 2 tablespoons fresh ground ginger (or powdered)

  • 2 eggs

  • 1/4 cup milk (regular or plant-based)

  • Non-stick cooking spray or 3 tablespoons of coconut oil

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees

  • In a large mixing bowl – whisk together flour, baking powder and pumpkin pie spice until evenly combined.

  • Next, incorporate the ginger, eggs, sweetener of choice, and milk.

  • Prepare your baking sheet (regular or silicone will work)

  • Mix well and slowly spoon the batter into your prepared donut baking sheet. Place in oven for 20 minutes or until evenly baked.

  • Once done baking, allow to cool before removing from the baking sheet. Enjoy!
