Make a Healthy Trail Mix or Granola

Trail mix is a great way to satisfy hunger pangs in the middle of the day. Combine ingredients with carbohydrates, protein and fat that will help keep your hunger at bay with a balance of nutrients and lots of flavor!

Try ingredients like:

  • Healthy Cereal like Barbara’s Multigrain Puffins
  • Raisins/craisins
  • Dark chocolate chips
  • Sunflower seeds/pumpkin seeds
  • Pistachios/cashews/brazil nuts/ almonds


If you have a little more time, mix up your favorite ingredients for this healthy homemade granola:

  • Old Fashioned Oats
  • Nuts and Seeds: Slivered almonds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, chia seeds, etc.
  • Coconut Oil (melted)
  • Honey or Maple Syrup
  • Cinnamon, Salt, Vanilla Extract
  • Coconut Flakes
  • Dark chocolate chips
  • Parchment paper

Instructions: Toss dry ingredients together (except chocolate chips). Add the wet ingredients and mix. Spread the mixture on parchment-covered baking sheet. Bake at 350 °F for 20 minutes. Add coconut flakes on top of granola and pop back into over for an additional 5 minutes. Take out of the oven and let cool for 30 minutes.
